Welcome! As one of the most active biomedical research institutions in the nation, we are pleased that you have decided to check us out – and perhaps become part of “how science works” at the University of Pittsburgh Schools of the Health Sciences. Welcome to “Knowledge Town,” as this region of the country has become affectionately known – with a concentration of amazing and highly talented scientists, engineers, clinicians, and many other individuals who provide outstanding educational opportunities in state-of-the-art biomedical research fields.

The Office of Science Education Outreach (OSEO), Health Sciences, at the University of Pittsburgh provides opportunities for high school students for hands-on biomedical research training experiences under close supervision of world-class faculty mentors. This program is designed to prepare high school students to begin or further their studies in biomedical research and learn important skills to help prepare them for success in college and future careers in science and medicine.

Students (mentees) can work with a mentor on a research project during the academic year as well as during the summer.

Discover Opportunities - Good luck and we look forward to seeing you at the University of Pittsburgh!
